As stated above, the first round at Optiver challenges you with a series of online assessments. Many people underestimate how much time goes into a proper preparation. Therefore, it would be better to prepare yourself first, before actually applying to the job. As soon you get an invitation for the test, you need to complete the test in two weeks.
The famous 80 in 8 math test is part of this assessment. Many people struggle with this test, however, you can significantly improve your skills by exercising. Don’t waste your time on sources that put a math test together with 80 questions in 8 minutes: you need to exercise with the right difficulty of questions. Any candidates that did the 80 in 8 test after preparing at our platform can confirm that we offer an extremely accurate practice test for the Optiver 80 in 8 test.
Don’t be fooled: having a proper preparation tool is still not a guarantee to pass the test. People experience a different type of stress during the real test. Some people struggle too much with this type of stress, so make sure you are well rested for the test. Also, not everybody can push themselves to the desired level, despite exercising, which is absolutely no shame. However, we do believe (and witness) that most candidates will be able to up their skills enough to ace the test by exercising a lot.
Furthermore, you will be asked to complete the NumberLogic test, also known as the Optiver Sequences test. This is not your average sequences test. The level of difficulty is relatively way higher than you might be used to at other companies. Again, we’ve got you covered with the right level of difficulty.
Recently, Optiver added the Zap-N test and the so-called Beat the Odds to their list of assessments that you need to complete for their first round.
