About XTX Markets
XTX Markets is a leading algorithmic trading firm that uses state-of-the-art machine learning technology to produce price forecasts for over 50,000 financial instruments. It trades on those forecasts across equities, fixed income, currencies, commodities and crypto, and provides specialised liquidity to clients around the world.
Founded in London in 2015 by Alex Gerko, XTX has grown into one of the largest non-bank liquidity providers in global markets, handling roughly $250bn of daily traded volume and trading across 35 countries. The firm is deliberately compact for its scale: a few hundred people, weighted heavily towards mathematicians, physicists and machine learning researchers.
Research infrastructure is central to how XTX competes. The firm runs a research cluster of more than 25,000 GPUs alongside over an exabyte of usable storage, and is building its own data centre in Finland to extend that capacity. As XTX puts it, the business “relies on bright, inquiring minds to keep us at the forefront” and is “built on a culture of collaborative success”.
