HRT’s founding partners graduated from Harvard and MIT with degrees in computer science and mathematics, and founded HRT in 2002. Armed with programming skills and sharp quantitative minds, the founders hypothesized that by applying a fresh take to trading stocks, one that truly leverages the power of technology, they could meaningfully impact a world still dominated by manual operators. Very quickly, their algorithms saw success in the markets and HRT grew from their origins in US equities to a global, multi-asset class trading firm.

Today HRT employs over 900 brilliant minds from a variety of mathematical, scientific, technical, and business disciplines. We trade on nearly all of the world’s electronic markets, and are a leading voice for fair and open markets. Hudson River Trading Offices

HRT is home to 10 state-of-the-art offices across 6 countries and 3 continents. We trade on more than 200 markets worldwide, with offices and teams in 6 countries. Our global footprint allows us the infrastructure and business relationships to trade thousands of financial products around the world quickly and efficiently.

New York City is home to our global headquarters at 3 World Trade Center. This multi-floor space features a cafe serving breakfast, lunch, and as many snacks as you can carry; a play tank with all the games, foosball, and ping pong you could want; and the highest private terrace in Manhattan with sweeping views of the city. We also have offices around the country in Austin, Chicago, Boulder, and Boston, with meals, snacks, in-office bars, and tons of social events.

Our London and Dublin offices span our UK and EU business, home to over 100 employees across all teams. Our London team is located in a brand-new space at 100 Liverpool Street in the heart of Shoreditch, featuring their own beautiful private terrace and catered lunch each day. Both offices host regular events featuring some of the best food and fun their cities have to offer. Whether it’s some office football banter, taking part in annual athletic events, or enjoying lunch together, these offices know how to bond.

Our Singapore office is located in the Ocean Financial Centre, a state-of-the-art sustainability-focused property just steps away from the bay. The team enjoys lunch together every day, celebrates local holidays, plays badminton at a local community center, and enjoys lots of team dinners outside of work. Our Shanghai and Mumbai offices are also growing, with teams spanning Biz Dev, Finance, Compliance and People Ops.
