Radix Trading

Radix Trading describes itself as “a research firm, powered by technology and monetized through trading”. It was founded in Chicago in 2012 by Benjamin Blander, formerly head of high-frequency trading at Citadel, and Michael Rauchman, formerly chief technology officer at GETCO.

Rather than competing primarily on speed, Radix pursues a deliberately different route: “using statistical research to outsmart the competition”. The firm is “building a new type of trading firm dedicated to research through targeted collaboration and vast ingenuity”, and is privately funded with no external investors.

Its hiring model is unusually academic. Radix combines “interdisciplinary academics (undergraduate, PhD, Postdoc, and Professors) from top universities around the world with experienced researchers and seasoned technologists”, and operates from Chicago, New York and Amsterdam.
