Tibra

Tibra describes itself as “a successful, global proprietary trading firm deploying a diverse range of strategies across multiple asset classes on the world’s most competitive financial markets”. It was founded in January 2006 by a group of former Optiver Sydney traders led by Dinesh Bhandari.

The firm is headquartered in Austinmer on the New South Wales coast, an unusual choice for a trading firm, with further offices in Sydney, London and Hong Kong. Tibra “develops and executes investment strategies through scientific analysis and quantitative research”, continuously refining its methods to stay competitive.

Beyond trading, the Tibra Capital Foundation supports environmental conservation, healthcare infrastructure and academic research in the mathematical sciences. Tibra recruits graduate traders, quantitative researchers and developers from Australian and UK universities, and is a familiar name in Sydney’s trading scene.
