About Amber Group
Amber Group is a digital asset trading and financial services firm founded in 2017 by a group of finance and technology professionals from Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and Bloomberg, including CEO Michael Wu. It began as a crypto trading firm focused on quantitative strategies and liquidity provision, and positions itself as “your bridge between traditional and digital finance”.
The firm runs “an expansive and exceptionally skilled trading team, recognized as one of the largest and most proficient in the industry”, combining market analysis with quantitative strategies to serve institutional investors and high-net-worth clients. Alongside trading it offers asset management, advisory, research and infrastructure services.
Amber reached unicorn status within four years of founding and later took a $3 billion valuation in a round led by Temasek. Originally established in Hong Kong, it has since moved its home office to Singapore while maintaining teams across Hong Kong, the United States and Europe. Amber Labs is its research and early-stage investment arm.
