Wintermute

Wintermute is a global algorithmic trading firm and one of the largest market makers in digital assets. Founded in 2017 by Evgeny Gaevoy, who remains CEO, the London-based firm has grown into a central piece of crypto market infrastructure, providing deep liquidity across more than 50 centralised and decentralised trading venues.

The firm handles billions of dollars in daily trading volume and offers institutional clients OTC access to spot, options, forwards and CFDs across hundreds of tokens, plus bespoke structures and API liquidity. Its DeFi arm is an active liquidity provider on-chain as well as on centralised exchanges.

Wintermute invites counterparties to “trade at the source of liquidity” rather than through intermediaries, pairing high-frequency trading technology with an OTC desk. It hires quantitative researchers, traders and low-latency engineers, many from traditional prop trading backgrounds, across London and Singapore.
