About Marex
Marex is a London-based financial services firm that connects clients to global commodity and financial markets. It works across four services: clearing, agency and execution, market making, and hedging and investment solutions. Its strongest franchises are in metals, energy and agricultural products, with access to more than 60 exchanges. Marex Group plc is listed on Nasdaq under the ticker MRX and has more than 40 offices and over 2,400 employees across Europe, Asia and the Americas.
For candidates interested in trading, the most relevant part of the group is its Market Making division. Marex acts as principal across energy, metals, environmental, financial and agricultural markets through specialist teams. CSC Commodities, which joined Marex in 2019, covers energy, freight and environmental markets, and in metals Marex runs Neon Metals, an electronic trading platform for its clients.
In 2026 Marex added equity derivatives market making by acquiring WEBB Traders, the Amsterdam options market maker founded in 2009. The deal was announced in February 2026 and closed in August 2026. The team now forms Marex’s Algo and Flow department, which provides liquidity across global cash equity and derivatives markets with proprietary capital and automated trading strategies. Inside Marex it is still known as the WEBB team, based in Amsterdam with a significant presence in Paris.
What Marex Trades

One of Marex’s leading franchises, from precious metals to electronic trading through Neon Metals. - Energy and environmental products
Pricing and risk management for corporate and institutional clients, much of it through CSC Commodities. - Agriculture
Agricultural products such as grains and sugar, with commodity sales teams as far afield as Brazil. - Equities and equity derivatives
Options and cash equity market making by the Algo and Flow team, formerly WEBB Traders, which is now expanding into systematic crypto options. - FX, capital markets and digital assets
FX sales and execution, prime services and a growing digital assets business.
Culture and Benefits
Marex describes its culture through five values: be collaborative, act with integrity, be adaptable and entrepreneurial, be respectful, and nurture talent. The last one shapes how it talks about careers. It aims to grow its own people, and promises graduates a meaningful role from day one, training programmes, mentorship and daily access to senior leaders. Pay is a competitive salary with benefits and performance-related bonuses.
Within the group, the WEBB team keeps its own character. Market makers, quantitative researchers and software engineers work closely together on trading strategies and technology, and the team describes the work as a chance to take ownership and contribute directly to the business.
Hiring at Marex
Marex hires through three routes:
- UK Graduate Programme
A London programme that starts with a bootcamp on financial markets and Marex’s business model. Graduates then join a specific business area, such as sales trading, capital markets or prime services, and keep learning alongside their cohort. Applications for the 2027 intake opened in 2026, and Marex also runs a US graduate programme. - Internships
Posted per office rather than as one global scheme. In October 2026 they included a Digital Assets Trading Intern in Singapore, a Prime Services Intern in Hong Kong and a Quantitative Researcher Internship with the WEBB team in Paris. - Experienced hires
Roles are posted for offices including London, New York, Chicago, Singapore, Hong Kong, Paris and Amsterdam. The WEBB team hires quantitative researchers, traders and software engineers for Amsterdam and Paris.
Before the acquisition, WEBB candidates reported a process of a screening call, an online test for engineers or an interview with a senior quant trader for traders, technical rounds, and a final round on site in Amsterdam or Paris. The whole loop typically took about two weeks, with questions on options pricing and risk, systematic trading and clean code rather than a separate brain-teaser round.
