The Jane Street interview process
Jane Street reviews every application by hand, and the trading interview process starts with two to three phone interviews before a full day of final interviews, held in their office or over Zoom. All rounds are conducted by quantitative traders and feel conversational rather than quiz-like: no prior finance knowledge or advanced math is required, but sharp probability intuition is essential. Expect game theory as well: traders like to talk through game theory puzzles with you and follow how you reason about them out loud.
