Overview
If you have applied to trading firms, sequences tests are a common hurdle, and this Hard level is built to match them. You are shown a series of numbers, and your task is to identify the underlying pattern and predict the next number in the sequence. Expect the trickiest patterns: layered rules, interleaved sequences and less familiar relations such as Lucas or Pell style recurrences. Questions come in multiple-choice format with free navigation, in a quick 13-question challenge or a full 26-question challenge. The difficulty closely mirrors what you can expect in the real tests, so your scores here are a good representation of how well you are prepared.
Game Phases
1
Read the question
Each question shows a series of numbers. Identify the underlying pattern in the sequence.
2
Pick your answer
Choose the next number in the sequence from the multiple answer choices.
3
Navigate freely
You can move through the questions and complete them in any order. Skipping is allowed and scores zero for that question.
4
Beat the clock
Pick the quick challenge (13 questions in 12.5 minutes) or the full one (26 questions in 25 minutes). Feel free to use pen and paper, but leave the calculator alone.
Scoring
+1
Correct answer
Each correct answer adds one point.
-1
Wrong answer
Each wrong answer subtracts one point, so only commit when you are confident.
0
Skipped
Skipped questions score nothing, neither for nor against you.
Your score is correct answers minus wrong answers, with skips counting zero. At this difficulty, knowing when to skip is part of the skill: a wrong answer costs a point, so let go of a sequence you cannot crack. The target is 8 out of 13 on the quick challenge and 16 out of 26 on the full one, in line with what a strong candidate scores on the real assessments.
