Overview
The online assessment is the first challenge in the application process at Da Vinci Derivatives, designed to assess your numerical abilities, your feeling for numbers and your ability to apply basic probability theory. This tool prepares you for it: 20 questions to answer in 12 minutes, covering probability questions and comparison questions in multiple-choice format. In the real test you cannot skip questions or navigate back, and the time pressure is high, so train until answering quickly and committing to your answers feels natural.
Game Phases
1
Read the question
Each question presents a probability problem or a comparison question that tests your feeling for numbers.
2
Pick your answer
Choose your answer from the multiple answer choices.
3
Navigate freely
In this practice tool you can move through the questions in any order, and skipping scores zero. The real test does not let you skip or go back, so practice committing to an answer on the first pass.
4
Beat the clock
Work through the 20 questions within 12 minutes. Feel free to use pen and paper, but leave the calculator alone.

Scoring
+1
Correct answer
Each correct answer adds one point.
-1
Wrong answer
Each wrong answer subtracts one point, so only commit when you are confident.
0
Skipped
Skipped questions score nothing, neither for nor against you.
Your score is correct answers minus wrong answers across the 20 questions, with skips counting zero. Because a wrong answer costs a point, a wild guess is worse than skipping, but with only 36 seconds per question on average you cannot afford to hesitate either. Balance speed against accuracy the same way you would in the real assessment.
