Overview
After applying to trading firms, you often face a sequences test, and this Easy level is where your preparation starts. You are shown a series of numbers, and your task is to identify the underlying pattern and predict the next number in the sequence. At this level the patterns are the fundamental ones: constant differences, constant multiples, squares, primes and simple sums of previous terms. Questions come in multiple-choice format with free navigation, in a quick 13-question challenge or a full 26-question challenge. The real tests are considerably harder than this Easy mode, so make sure you can complete these flawlessly before advancing to the Medium and Hard levels.
Game Phases
1
Read the question
Each question shows a series of numbers. Identify the underlying pattern in the sequence.
2
Pick your answer
Choose the next number in the sequence from the multiple answer choices.
3
Navigate freely
You can move through the questions and complete them in any order. Skipping is allowed and scores zero for that question.
4
Beat the clock
Pick the quick challenge (13 questions in 12.5 minutes) or the full one (26 questions in 25 minutes). Feel free to use pen and paper, but leave the calculator alone.
Scoring
+1
Correct answer
Each correct answer adds one point.
-1
Wrong answer
Each wrong answer subtracts one point, so only commit when you are confident.
0
Skipped
Skipped questions score nothing, neither for nor against you.
Your score is correct answers minus wrong answers, with skips counting zero. At this level you should be aiming for near perfection: the target is 12 out of 13 on the quick challenge and 24 out of 26 on the full one. Hit those consistently and you are ready to step up to Medium Sequences.
